Can our party hunt the whole time we are there?
A: A guide will show you to your stands daily for your evening hunts but we do have plenty of acres where a hunter can hunt at his/her discretion throughout the day.
Are we expected to bring what we are to eat or is this provided?
A: Fountain Farms prides itself on keeping costs low so parties should bring everything they want to eat/drink while here. We do provide dishware, eating utensils, a stove, grill, etc. If you are planning on grilling out, be sure to bring charcoal and lighter fluid. San Augustine is close so if you run out of anything it is a short ride into town.
Can we bring alcohol?
A: Yes. However, keep in mind that if you are planning on hunting, don’t plan on drinking. You’ll have plenty of time after the hunt to relax and have a few drinks to toast a successful day. If you just plan on coming out to sit in camp and drink though, your chance for a successful hunt diminishes.
Are there any local taxidermy’s?
A: Your best bet is to coordinate any taxidermy services prior to coming. We have the necessary freezers, etc to make sure your trophy stays frozen for transport.
What can I expect on this hunt?
A: The opportunity to see (and shoot) a lot of pigs. We are not the flashiest or fanciest but you will be very comfortable in camp, have a great chance to harvest some great meat pigs as well as VERY large boar, and go home with some great memories.
Do I need to clean the cabin after the hunt?
A: Hunters are responsible for cleaning the cabin and returning it to condition it was on arrival. Or, a cleaning service can clean cabin for an addtitional $30 fee.
